Here's my story.  My husband Keith and I moved to France in 2014 after my recovery from cancer. 

​

 

I started making and selling soap in 2000, whilst living in the UK, after completing an intensive professional soap-making course. After our move to France, I launched Airmeith Savonnerie in 2014.

​

I started as a market trader, attending events, festivals, markets, private functions, and parties in my local and regional areas. The popularity of my soap increased my production 12-fold so I decided to open my own shop. My sales increased to the point where demand outstripped supply and requests for soap-making workshops multiplied.  It was great news for me!

​

But as the years went by and age crept on, my energy and passion for soapmaking diminished so I reverted to my life passion for teaching, guiding, and motivating others to achieve what they think is impossible.

 

That's how the Institut de Formation de Savonnerie, a subsidiary of Airmeith Savonnerie, came into being.

​

Today, you'll find me teaching the secrets of scientific soapmaking to people like you, who come to Caylus from all over the world.  

​

They benefit not only from my practical experience in the soap industry but also from my deep heritage in the adult education sector, as well as my experience in business consultancy.

 

And it is all done in a friendly atmosphere.

​

Being able to combine my passion for teaching others with the wonderful craft of soapmaking, I'm grateful for what life has to offer.

On her organic farm in Italy, Luisa Bezzi produces superior virgin cold-pressed olive oil from Mignola and Raggia olives, which is exported all over the world.

​

Keen to add value to her already world-renowned business, Luisa decided to venture into the world of beauty by creating plant extracts and luxury soaps.

​

In 2022, Luisa completed our intensive Master Soapmaker training course, which enabled her to develop her ideas, experiment with different ingredients, test her formulations, and create luxury soaps using her own organic olive oil. The training Luisa received also helped her to comply with the European regulation on cosmetic products and the ISO 22716 standard.

In Luisa's words (October 2023):

"Finally, we launched our range of organic soaps, essential oils, and hydrolats made from our own organic olive oil and crops. We increased production and started selling and testing this spring. Our customers love our products. Thank you very much for your inspiring teaching".

Meet Marianne Wedier, an adult educator for 25 years, then an educational engineer and certified soap-maker.

​

After completing an intensive 13-day course at a leading cosmetics university in France, Marion contacted us about a bespoke Masterclass training program that would help her deepen her practical and scientific soap-making skills. She took part in this programme in May 2021.

​

Since then, Marianne has launched her own business, La Saponière, an online Cosmetics Training Institute dedicated to helping you discover natural skincare formulation.  Under her brand name, Marianne produces high-quality handmade soaps in her soap factory in Lille. 

​

Her passion and deep heritage for educating others in the world of natural cosmetics, both for newcomers, amateurs and professionals, has made her brand not only unique but also highly sought-after.

Marie-Pascale Burri and her husband Johannes bought the farm in Villardonnel in 2005 to make their dream come true. Since then, they have lived there with their daughter Charlotte.

​

The farm covers 70 hectares, half of which is moorland and woodland. Following their arrival, they developed a sheep-rearing activity. The farm has been organic since 2008.

​

Charlotte joined Marie-Pascale on the farm in the spring of 2018. This move has enabled them to develop their activities with the production of black pigs and the start of on-farm processing and direct sales of their products.

​

Keen to use the by-product of her black pigs, Marie-Pierre asked us to help her design a training program that puts her lard at the heart of her soap formulas.

​

In the process, Marie-Pierre discovered the art of producing superior soap based on scientific facts. Lard is a delicate fatty substance to work with and a lot of time was spent designing and testing formulas in our laboratory and experimenting with natural preservatives to improve the shelf life of lard soap, which normally has a short shelf life.

​

In between managing the farm, its animals, and the by-product production, Marie-Pascale found time to develop her formula and, after 2 years, is now on the verge of launching her soap products.

In the pretty village of Villesèque, in the Lot département (46), farmers Sophie Girard and her husband David have come up with an innovative project that should see the light of day in May 2024.

​

This unique new agritourism activity includes, among other things, a shop selling products from the organic cultivation of fine lavender.

 

We first met Sophie in early 2021, when we discovered her passion for transforming her organically grown fine lavender and wine into luxury soap products.

​

We designed a bespoke course for Sophie, who was looking at integrating the produce from her farm into unique soap products that she could develop in the future.

​

We are privileged and excited to have received an invitation from Sophie for her inauguration in 2024.  Thank you Sophie!
